• Better and secure, use the "S" commands:

  • ssh, scp and slogin.
  • Uses secure public key protocol.
  • Open source version available at: http://www.ssh.fi/.

• Generalization of rsh for clusters is prsh (available from http://www.cacr.caltech.edu/beowulf/).

  • Executes rsh in parallel on all cluster nodes.
