Why Not WinNT?

• No Windows culture and expertise.

• Large porting effort would be required.

• Very difficult to use and administer remotely.

• Limited platform support (only x86 and Alpha).

• Relatively expensive, especially the needed add-ons.

• Questionable stability.

• Vendor lock-in.
