Tips on filters and Templates

• Test every new filter against a logfile extract to make sure it will work.

• OpenView allows you to test a single filter or a whole template against a logfile and see what is left unmatched.

• After adding several new filters,.test the whole template to make sure it will still pass unmatched messages.

• Label message filters with a unique ID
