• Problem checking, for example User X is no longer in passwd file, but his home directory still exists

• Who is in the shutdown.allow file

• Check hosts.equiv and .rhosts files

• Suspicious SUID/SUIG files

• Bad login attempts, Invalid users

• Last reboot times

• Null passwords

• Password consistency through pwck
