• Multiple IP addresses

  • Each LANIC can be configured with up to 31 IP addresses in HP-UX 10.x

• Stationary IP address

  • This IP address is the node IP address. It never migrates to another node and is associated with the hostname

• Heartbeat IP address

  • A stationary IP address that is used for the hearbeat transmission
